After lasts nights wicked storms we awoke to a beautiful sunrise. Once again we picked our way thru the crab pots to head out.
We had a nice weather day...only 98 F...which is a real treat..trust me.
Once again we had all the military planes flying over head and watched the eagles fly.
Green Marker 63 marks the crossing from North Carolina to Virginia.
Once we arrived within city limits of Norfolk there are a ton of swing bridges you have to wait for to open. One was closed from 4-6 pm for rush hour so we tied up to a barge to wait.
We travelled past all the huge Navy boats that park right beside our Marina. The USS Wisconsin is parked next to us and I am going to take pictures tomorrow. Tonight it was after 7 pm when we got here since we had to stop for all the bridges that open on the hour/ half-hour. We were hungry and tired ...the Hooters is on the dock..they have a margarita sign out front ...well you fill in the rest....
We are tied up at Waterside Marina at ICW Maker 0. We will stay here until Friday when, if the weather permits we will go back into the Atlantic until New York City ...about 48 hours ..unless weather gets bad then we will take a quick break in Cape May.We are hoping to pick up a couple people to do this trip with us. 48 hours in the Atlantic with just us will be exhausting. Mr. Marler & Mr. Denny expressed interest so we will see.
Tourism Norfolk awaits we tomorrow ...and ohhh a tall ship just pulled up to our dock....more tomorrow !
